BP Well blow out Trinidad and Tobago
-
-
British Petroleum in Trinidad and Tobago suffered a well blowout on Rocky Point
-
-
B.P.\’s well blowout covered an ocean water inlet and nearby pond
-
-
The thick oil covered both the water and inland vegetation
-
-
Interchem, B.P.\’s cleanup contractor, reacted to the well blowout by utilizing OSE II for the oil spill clean up.
-
-
2 days after Interchem applied OSE II, the oil could still be seen lifting off the sand and vegetation
-
-
The oil that lifted off the vegetation started to solubilize
-
-
The oil from B.P\’s well blowout continued to lift from the vegetation
-
-
The oil continued to lift from the vegetation while the oil in the water went through bioremediation
-
-
The oil in the water began to solubilize and convert to carbon dioxide and water
-
-
The oil on the soil and vegetation was detoxified to the point that 8 days after OSE II was applied new vegetation began to grow
-
-
10 days after the application of OSE II, the oil solubilized completely and large pockets of carbon dioxide bubbles were present.
-
-
Large pockets of CO2 showed where the oil was remediated
-
-
14 days after applying OSE II you could start to see the bottom of the water
-
-
Once the bacteria ran out of free floating solubilized oil, it migrated to other areas where oil had accumulated
-
-
21 days after applying OSE II, the shoreline became clean and new vegetation started to grow
